    OFFICIAL 2023 CONFERENCE CALL

The EWMC Executive Committee is pleased to announce the 33rd national leadership conference from January 12-15, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Hotel in Denver, Colorado. The conference theme is Healing and Building Through Solidarity. We will meet to address pressing challenges, explore new opportunities for growth, best practices, and strategies to expand EWMC’s vision and goals.

After a two-year hiatus, EWMC members will meet once again as a unified force to dialogue, share and exchange information, enhance leadership skills, learn about and deliberate on political, economic, social and environmental issues important to workers and their families. Delegates will have an opportunity to Network and Volunteer to give back to the Denver community by participating in community service projects.

The EWMC annual leadership conference begins with pre-conference activities on Wednesday evening, January 11, 2023, at 6:30 pm; Opening Plenary on Thursday evening, January 12, 2023, and concludes on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm.  Please review the entire conference agenda carefully for scheduling details before making travel arrangements. You do not want to miss any of the scheduled activities.

During the conference, delegates will participate in interactive skill-building workshops, plenary discussions, and Branch and  District Caucuses to address important issues unique to those areas. Delegates should come prepared to both share teachable experiences and best practices in their workplace or chapter to help shape and employ sound practices to build and strengthen our union, EWMC chapters and communities.

DAY OF GIVING - EWMC COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Come early and take part in the Day of Giving which is one of the most rewarding conference activities.  Volunteer and arrive a day before the conference begins to sign up for community service projects in the Denver community. The purpose is to honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by helping those in need who are unable to otherwise help themselves. We strive to leave the surrounding Denver community better than when we arrived by contributing our skills and talents in the areas in need.

The EWMC Denver Chapter has identified disadvantaged communities, women, men and youth, dislocated families and elderly residents in the community. Projects include electrical work, painting, gardening, food bank worker assistance, special projects at homeless shelters, churches, juvenile and senior facilities, and schools in the area. EWMC members take great pride in their community service work. In January, let’s show Denver the real meaning of brotherhood and sisterhood. Sign up early for the "Day of Giving" that takes place Thursday morning, January 12, 2022 at 6:30 am.
