What is Renew?
RENEW (Reach Out and Engage Next-Gen Electrical Workers) is a young workers group that was created to help IBEW members become more involved with their local, communities, and the labor movement. Through education, collaboration, and active involvement we strive to create a stronger working class and form a better image of the working people within our communities. Young members are our future and experienced members are our mentors. The RENEW 134 meetings and events are a place where these young workers and mentors can come together to set goals based on the needs of our local union.
The goals of this program are to educate the next generation of workers about the benefits of the IBEW, to provide space for younger members to discuss issues relevant to their workplace and community, and encourage their participation in programs that are focused on strengthening the local union and the labor movement.
RENEW is open to all IBEW Local 134 members, regardless of age and classification.
RENEW meets the first Thursday of the month at our Union Hall at 5pm. Each month we try and have a different topic or guest speaker to help further our education of the local and the electrical industry. We are always open for new meeting topics and discussion points so feel free to email us with your ideas. We are also here to help answer any questions that you have if you don't feel comfortable asking your contractor or asking at the Good of the Local during our regular monthly meetings.
